Schools Suffer While King Rod Sits on Bill

How is it that over half a billion dollars of funding for state schools is still sitting in the coffers of the state, despite the legislation appropriating the funds was sent to the King Rod Blagejovich months ago? The answer: There is no poison pill provision in the Illinois Constitution similar to that which exists in the US Constitution. More fodder for a Constitutional Convention in Illinois, for sure.

Who is backing the concept of the City of Chicago owning a casino? A former member of the state gambling commission says that any company with as many corruption problems (bribes and contract fixing) as Chicago would be tossed in the first round of consideration.

This has to be one of the STUPIDEST ideas that's been batted about in Springfield in decades. And of course, the concept is backed by Clown Prince Emil Jones. Of course it is.
