Do the folks in the mainstream media really think Clown Prince Emil Jones is going to let any measure that would hamper his or King Rod Blagojevich ability to raise heaps of hot sweaty cash come to a vote on the Senate floor? Does anyone in Illinois really believe the Senate, controlled by the Chicago Democrats who play favors for dollars, will vote to approve this?
And does anyone reading this realize just how MUCH cash is going into King Rod's coffers from businesses located OUTSIDE of Illinois? Last time I looked, nearly 10% of King Rod's campaign contributions came from New York and California - remember that plane ride that Stu Levine talked about in his testimony in the Rezko trial?
I can see some HUGE hanky panky going on - with Chicago-based businesses setting up branch dummy corporations in Gary, where real estate is cheap, and donating heaps of cash through those dummy corp's. No, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I just see an easy end-around on this legislation even if it, in the most unlikely instance it passes and survives King Rod's certain veto.
Ban on campaign donations closer to being passed (The Pantagraph) - SPRINGFIELD -- A ban on campaign donations from state contractors could pass the Illinois Legislature within the next two weeks, potentially outlawing a practice that has put millions of dollars in Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s campaign coffers. [King Rod - Yahoo]
