You have to wonder about the Illinois Constitution's set up, don't you. Unlike the US Constition, which requires the President to veto a bill within 10 days, we're stuck with legislation sitting for weeks... months... years under the thumb of Governor King Rod Blagojevich. Sitting... waiting... to cut off the funding that he oh so loves in his "pay to play" brand of politics.
King Rod thinks we're buying his "this needs amended" claptrap, that people have taken their eye off the ball. He must think none of noticed just how often his name was mentioned in Tony Rezko's trial.
His expenditures on television advertising is a massive waste of money. And, we can be sure, it will not say "From the people of Illinois" but "Courtesy of Rod Blagojevich, Gorvernor."
And Clown Prince Senate President Emil Jones must be feeling so good at letting the budget he helped pass, and the veto override by the House, die.
