This headline almost sounds like the editors at the Pantagraph are SHOCKED by King Rod Blagojevich's paid mouthpiece doing his job - keeping his client in office and out of jail.  Unfortunately, the people of Illinois will have to suffer at least another week of King Rod in the seat of power as his impeachment hearing is briefly drawn out.

But one has to wonder - who ARE these mystery witnesses that Ed Gemson thinks he can pull out of his hat, to exonerate a governor who has repeatedly flaunted the power of his office in at least a dozen different ways - from illegally appropriating funds for health care, to disregarding the state's laws on open government, to malfeasance in using state-owned aircraft as his personal commuter vehicles?  These are all documented abuses of power by King Rod.

I understand Mr. Gemson isn't worried about getting paid - perhaps he wants to be in the history books as one of the few lawyers ever to have to defend a governor from impeachment.  Quite the legacy.
