Racism - Alive and Well in the United States
Racism is alive and well in America, as shown by the support in Oakland California for a felon convicted of a violent crime. Said criminal, Lovelle Mixon,open fired and killed four police officers upon being stopped by Oakland's police department, who were seeking him on numerous charges, including that of serial rape.
The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement applauds Mixon's murders, and his cousin has gone on the record of calling him a hero. Apparent spokesman for InPDUM, Bakari Olantuji, tries to make Mixon out as someone to admire as a martyr.
This hate group, started in Chicago, supports the reparation movement. They are trying to lay the blame for Mixon's heinous behavior on the slave trade in the United States, that he was a victim of something that has not existed in this country for 144 years.
Who is going to pay reparations to the families of Mixon's victims would seem to be the true question here.
I have to wonder if these people have any clue just how dumb it makes them look by trying to make somene apparently so sociopathic out as a hero.

I just finished reading Thomas Sowell's book "Black Rednecks/White Liberals". I suggest everyone interested in race/ethnic-culture studies and politics should be required to read it.
I especially found his chapter called "The Real History of Slavery" fascinating. I learned that the word "slavic" which is a broad name for most eastern Europeans is where the word "slave" originated. During the conquests of the Roman Empire and the Muslims through the middle ages, slavs were commonly slaves and hence that's where the word comes from. In otherwords, I'm a descendant of slaves as well. So, what is the expiration date and where are my reparations.
The United States did NOT invent slavery. As a matter of fact, it was alive and thriving on the African continent before the white man got there. Seems the dominant African tribes often enslaved those that fell to conquest. Also interestingly, it was impossible for white slave traders to go and capture slaves themselves since the average white man could only live in the interior of Africa for about a year before falling to malaria or a host of tropical diseases he had no resistence. So, it was other Africans that sold slaves to the white man.
In addition, it's believe that the reason some of the east Africa nations are lighter skinned is because of the influx of white, female slaves of European descent that made there way to that area.
Three times more slaves were imported to Brazil than the Americas and England and the US outlawed the slave trade decades before the Portugese did. Is Portugal and Brazil planning on reparations?? FYI - 8% of all the slaves came to North America.
And the bulk of slaves from Africa went to the middle east. It's estimated when forced to make the journey across the Trans-Sahara, only one in six survived. The vast majority of them were female. The male slaves had an even smaller survival rate since they were often castrated before making the journey. Since there was no anti-biotics or pain-killers used - they were more likely to die than the female slaves. Any reparations coming from the middle east???
Lovelle Mixon was a rapist (cops had DNA evidence - but I'm sure this group thinks it was a frame-up). Groups like this need to study their history and learn to fight real instances of racism instead of picking mascots like Mixon that ultimately will only make them look stupid. They so obviously don't want to be bothered with facts.
Again, I can't recommend the book "Black Rednecks/White Liberals" by Thomas Sowell enough because he touches on much of what is at the heart of the above issue. I should mention that Sowell is also an African American.
