You have to wonder if Illinois Republican Leader Frank Watson of Greenville is truly naive enough to believe even the written assurances of King Rod Blagojevich.

In the casinos-for-schools plan approved by the Illinois Senate, a two-year review of King Rod's actual record will be made. Watson's spokesman Patty Shuh told the Daily Herald ""The bottom line is, we've put together some pretty tight lockdowns to make sure this happens."

But once the machine is grinding on the money, will anyone put on the brakes immediately if it becomes obvious King Rod has once again lied to the people of downstate Illinois?

Not as long as Emil Jones runs the Senate, the Republicans remain irrelevant.
