Hastert and Poshard Push on Blagojevich Proposal

King Governor Rod Blagojevich is trying to get two political heavyweights, Glen Poshard and former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to convince the General Assembly that he can be trusted. Crain's Chicago Business is apparently buying into this bamboozle, too with their headline "Blagojevich moves to break budget logjam." But then they go on to say that King Rod himself never bothered to actually sign the memo that outlines the capital spending plan.

Why Are Democrats Buying Into the "Regular Folks" Routine of Obama and Clinton?

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both have a huge credibility issue - trying to play themselves off as "regular folks." Neither is "regular folks" from where I sit - and I wish the people with the straight party mentality would wake up and smell the coffee.

Another illegal alien May Day demonstration on the way

Well, the forces supporting the continued invasion of the United States by illegal aliens are going to repaint the pretty picture awaiting the country if the Department of Homeland Security and ICE don't press their efforts. More flag burnings by illegal aliens, more rioting, more racist slogans... don't you just love it?

Obama making less than a quarter of Senate votes

Ah, the People of Illinois have GOT to be SO proud - our junior Senator, whose track record at showing up for votes in Springfield was less than stellar, is so wrapped up in his Presidential campaign that he seems to have forgotten he already HAS a job - representing us in the upper house of Congress.

Gov wants to fund mass transit with $350 million from gas tax (Chicago Sun-Times)

Well, King Rod is at it once again, wanting 99 of Illinois' counties to devote their resources to support the three that make up Chicagoland, by siphoning off $350 million from Illinois' gasoline tax to pay for the CTA. Madigan supports a regional sales tax. Which is a bad move, too.

Clinton allegedly opens lead in Iowa, poll finds

Oh, come on. A poll where 50% of the respondents said they are likely to change their mind, with a 5% margin of error, says she's ahead by 6 points?

Liars use statistics, and statistics lie. It's all in how you read it.

Senate deal may make winner out of Watson

You have to wonder if Illinois Republican Leader Frank Watson of Greenville is truly naive enough to believe even the written assurances of King Rod Blagojevich.
